These self-guided walking holidays are designed
to be completely flexible. You are therefore free to choose
to come whenever it suits you, stay as long as you like, and
even enjoy walk free days!
You can of course combine a few days in one
region with a few in another. This freedom will enable you
to select holiday start dates that make the most of cheap
flight availability.

Local support
You can have as much or as little support
from our local leaders as you like. They can be on call at
all times and are happy to meet you at the start of your holiday
to give you their personal introduction to the region. The
extent of our support is entirely up to you and your budget.
Culinary adventures
If you want the simple life, choose our full
board option and we'll prepare your picnics and provide you
with dinner.
If you want a little more adventure, take
the b&b option and practice your Spanish amidst the cured
meats and cheeses of the local shops.
Getting around
Hire cars make the trip to the location easy
and give you the freedom to explore the region while you're
there.
Subbética
Short circuit of BailÓn Gorge
This walk introduces you to the Bailó
Gorge with its spectacular limestone rock formations, early
spring flowers and blossoms. (3 miles)
Verdent valley circuit
A wonderful short excursion from Zuheros,
especially in early spring when the waters are dancing in
the gorge. Verdant valleys and ruined farmhouses. (6 miles)
Circuit of Bramadero
Back and forth across the river down to a
wonderfully verdant valley with abundant figs, walnuts, quince
and pears. A spectacular gorge. (8 miles)
Around the Castle of Allende
This walk introduces you to the village and
some of the local rock formations. Can be easily lengthened.

Ermita de la Virgen de la Sierra
A relatively easy linear walk which starts
from the Western side of the Park. On a clear day stunning
views can be seen from the top. (9 miles)
A look at Luque and back
Leaving Zuheros and passing beneath great
crags you follow our old walk of the bedsteads. Crossing a
shoulder of the mountain takes you across lovely open land
and down into Luque – a good lunch stop. You return
via a steep boulder strewn valley and then a spectacular descent
back into Zuheros. (10 miles)
Manuels Way
Climbing out of the village you follow an
old shepherds path which climbs gently until reaching the
high pastures and the very heart of the Subbética.
Later you descend to Doña Mencía where you can
cool off with a beer in the Cantina – the old railway
station. (10 miles)
Alpujarras
Portugos to TrevÉlez
The walk starts in Pórtugos, and then
follows the old mule route to Trevélez. Once you emerge
from the oak woods the views are spectacular. (9 miles)
Capileira – Las Tomas – Capileira
A fabulous circular walk, as soon as the snows
have retreated. Wild flowers, majestic views and a sense of
isolation. (10 miles)
BubiÓn to O Sel Ing
The Buddhist retreat is the destination of
this fine journey throught the Poqueira gorge – fascinating.
(9 miles)
Taking in the TahÁ
The main objective of the walk is a promontory
called La Mezquita (mosque), a historic and magical site affording
wonderful views of this section of the Rio Trevélez
gorge and all the villages forming the area known as La Tahá
de Pitres in which your hotel is situated. (8 miles)
Capileira village walk
This circuit of Capileira never leaves the
village. A pretty walk which gives a window into village life.
